We are loving Josh and Janel’s pretty Spruce Meadows wedding submitted by talented CBA vendor and Calgary Wedding Photographer Corrina Walker! Gorgeous pastels, stunning bouquets (by Amborella!) a beautiful lace gown aaaaand we can’t get over that engagement ring!
Our wedding ceremony took place at St. Giles Presbyterian Church in our hometown of Calgary, Alberta. We were hoping for a beautiful sunny autumn day and that is exactly what we got! Above all else, we wanted to make sure that our day was centered on God and the beautiful covenant that marriage is designed to be. My favorite part was when the church doors opened and I walked down the aisle with my Mom on one side and my Dad on the other.
My eyes were focused on Josh the whole way down. I will always remember the look on his face and the tears filling his eyes. Standing on the platform and looking out towards the crowd, seeing all the people that I loved in one room, was wonderfully overwhelming. That day, all of the pieces of our worlds collided. We had so much fun taking pictures with Corrina Walker and enjoyed spending the afternoon under the big blue sky.
Following the ceremony, our reception was held at Spruce Meadows. The hall was decorated with ivory linens and lace, along with vintage lanterns and mason jars. Long pieces of golden fabric hung from the ceiling, which gave the room a warm and more intimate feel. At the head table, each plate was one that was collected from my Grandma or a second hand store. We do love old plates! We tried not to get bogged down with all the little details of the wedding, but we did love to exercise our creativity through handcrafting the save the dates, the invitations, the table numbers, and the party favors. We had a wonderful team of support to help us do all of these things. Our wedding day was beyond what we could have ever imagined and we know that there is only the best to come as we live out our lives together.
